After completing his medical training in Barcelona, Spain, and Speciality National Board exam (MIR exam), he started his postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Hospital Clínic Barcelona.
In 2014 he obtained his CCT, and in August he started a Clinical Fellowship on Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Papworth. In August 2015 he was a appointed as a Locum Consultant in Anaeshthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and in May 2016 as a substantive Consultant.
Dr M Gimenez provides a whole perioperative care medicine ranging including preo-perative assessment, intraoperative and Postoperative Care for cardiac, thoracic and percutaneous cardiologic procedures (AF ablation, VT ablation, ICD insertion). He is part of the severe respiratory failure and ECMO service at Papworth. Currently, he is the Safety lead in Anaesthesia and an examiner of Part II of European diploma of Anaesthesia and Intensive care form European Society of Anaesthesia.
