To borrow from our library you need to have a library account. Go here to join.
To find out if a book is available, please search our online catalogue Elms. Follow the short summary steps below.
If you change the drop down menu to Royal Papworth Hospital, you can search our local print collection. You can search by title, author, subject and more.
If we do not have the book you need, you can change the drop down menu to ALL Libraries to search other libraries in our East of England consortium. If the title is available in one of these libraries, click place a reservation on the right-hand side. This option is only available once you have logged into your account at the top of the page.
If the item is not held by any of the libraries in our consortium, we may be able to obtain it as an Interlibrary Loan. From your library account, on the left hand side the last option is You Interlibrary Loan requests. Here you can create a new request.
Our e-book collection is hosted by five different platforms to ensure access to a wealth of different publishers. To search all titles, please use our library catalogue Elms. To view only e-books, you can refine your search by selecting e-books on the left hand side of the search results.
If you prefer, you can also search the individual databases: Clinical Key, Cambridge Core, EBSCO, Kortext and Oxford University Press (OUP). For more help and links to, please view the electronic resources page.
All platforms require an OpenAthens account to access the ebooks. If you do not have an Open Athens account, please register here.
To renew an item currently on loan, please visit our online catalogue Elms. Our Elms user guide provides step-by-step instructions. Alternatively, follow the short summary steps below.
In the top right hand corner, you can login with your User ID and PIN. (If you do not remember your login details, please email us and we can provide them for you). Once logged in, find the My Account tab. Choose the option to Renew My Materials and then select the items you wish to renew.
If the items are on loan from the Papworth print collection, you can renew them twice (as long as another library user has not requested them).
If the items are on loan from another library, please email us and usually we will be able to renew them on your behalf.
When you first register to join the library, you will receive an email with the subject 'Welcom to the Library'. Your user ID will in this email. Your PIN will be the one you chose when you registered. We don;t acces to PINs. If you have forgotten your PIN, please email us to request a PIN reset. Please suggest a new 4-digit PIN of your choise.
Your Login and PIN will allow you to log into the library catalogue Elms. The welcome email will be sent from the following address: elms-library@koha-ptfs.co.uk. If you cannot find this email in your inbox, please check your junk folder. If you are unable to locate this email, please email the library and we can resend it.

Our training programme for January 2021 is open for bookings but please be mindful that sessions may have to be cancelled at short notice due to us supporting essential Trust roles.
In February, training will be offered as a 1-1 session if it is essential for your role or university study. Please contact us to request the session you require.
In March, we are hopeful that our usual programme will be able to recommence.
We are currently offering training via Webex or MS Teams in 1-1 or small group sessions. Please visit the training page and complete the blue form on the right hand side to request the session of interest to you.
The easiest way to find out which journals we have current subscriptions to is through our Knowledge & Library HUB. Log in using your OpenAthens account, then on the main top menu choose Browse Journal.
