Dr Bambrough undertook undergraduate training at Cambridge University (Peterhouse). He continued to the MB/PhD programme completing his clinical studies and a PhD in immunology and cancer in 2009.
He went on to undertake specialist training in general medicine and cardiology in Sheffield and East Anglia including time in Uganda.
During this time he continued post-doctoral work in molecular biology at both the Laboratory of Molecular Biology , Cambridge and Dunn School of Pathology, Oxford.
Following completion of his clinical training in interventional cardiology he completed a Fellowship in TAVI and complex intervention at Royal Papworth.
He was elected to a Fellowship in medicine at Queens’ College Cambridge in 2019 and to a consultant position at Royal Papworth in 2021.
