Royal Papworth’s long-standing link with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has been recognised with a presentation at the hospital.

Hospital staff can be released from their duties to assist the fire service, a commitment that has been in place stretching back many years.

A plaque was delivered to the hospital on behalf of Chris Strickland, Chief Fire Officer earlier this week, ‘in recognition of the continual contribution made by releasing staff to carry out on-call firefighting duties on behalf of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, and helping the community at a time of need’.

The plaque was presented by Chris Parker, Head of Community Safety at CFRS, to Eilish Midlane, Chief Operating Officer at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
