During that time, Sophie Harrison, Deputy Chief Finance Officer, will step-up to cover the CFO role at Royal Papworth Hospital.

“The fact that Tim has been approached and asked to perform this role reflects the high regard in which he is held by colleagues in the NHS,” said Eilish Midlane, Chief Executive Officer at Royal Papworth Hospital.

“The role will be personally and professionally challenging for Tim, but I know he is motivated by making a difference and myself and our Chair, Professor Wallwork, are proud to be able to support him.

“I would like to congratulate Tim and personally thank him for his support for me over the past year as I have transitioned into the CEO role. We will be staying in close touch throughout his time away.

“In the meantime, I am really looking forward to working even more closely with Sophie and the fantastic opportunity she now has. She too is highly-regarded both here at Royal Papworth and within our wider NHS, and I am delighted she is going to be joining our executive team.”
