Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for staff and public governors to help shape the future direction of the Trust.
It is certainly an interesting time to become involved. Our 2020-2025 strategy sets an ambitious programme for the Trust which will see major collaborations emerge as we work with campus partners in the newly opened Heart and Lung Research Institute, as well as exciting opportunities as we develop the Royal Papworth School. There is also a chance to get involved in our drive to offer the best staff experience in the NHS, and one that is fair for all who work here.
Alongside these ambitions is the need to continue our recovery from the pandemic and maintain focus on our core purpose of treating patients who need us.
Governors are elected from public, patient and staff groups, and use their skills and experiences to support the work of the hospital and ensure that the Trust is accountable to local people.
Royal Papworth is seeking nine public Governors:
- one from Cambridgeshire
- two from Norfolk
- two from Suffolk
- four from the rest of England and Wales.
There are also three staff roles available in this year’s elections:
- one from from nursing
- one from admin, clerical and management
- and one from ancillary, estates and others.
The Council of Governors meet quarterly and training is provided for the role.
It is important that those who sit on the Council are from a variety of backgrounds and therefore previous experience of working or volunteering within a hospital setting is not required.
Nominations close at 17:00 on Friday 29 July 2022. Nominations may be completed online or returned by post or email. Access the online nomination portal or download a nomination form.
If you know of a friend, family member or patient who might be interested, please let them know.
