Earlier this week, staff were given the opportunity to explore the new Royal Papworth Hospital staff accommodation at Waterbeach, which officially opened on 16 July.
Visitors commented on how "spacious and modern" the new living areas are, and how they are looking forward to having "much better transport links to Cambridge".
The former barracks site, one of the first decommissioned MOD sites in the country to be redeveloped for public use, incorporates around 230 beds which are available to any member of staff at the hospital, and associated staff – depending on availability.
The accommodation is provided within two modern accommodation blocks and arranged into ‘houses’ of furnished bedrooms and shared, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas, with access to residential gardens and car parking.
