Hannah Gingell, 20, a nursing apprentice at Royal Papworth Hospital will appear in a new three-part series on BBC Two tonight.
'The Choir: Singing for Britain' airs at 21:00 on BBC Two on Tuesday 23 June and follows key workers from across the country during lockdown.
Hannah, who normally works at a healthcare support worker in critical care looking after coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, has been working virtually with choirmaster Gareth Malone in her spare time to compose a song which reflects the unique situation facing the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based in our staff accommodation in Waterbeach, Hannah has been video calling Gareth who has been working from his home studio. She appears alongside Sara, a junior doctor from Wales, and William who works in care homes in Scotland.
Hannah said the experience had been "surreal" and provided her with a "little light in her life during what had been a tough time".
More than 15,000 people applied to be on the programme and after a trial period Hannah made the final cut. She was spotted by the production company who saw her playing a cover of Andra Day's 'Rise Up' on the piano in our main atrium.
